Film Project Genre Research- The Boy

My fourth film is the movie The Boy from 2016. This film starts with slow eerie music playing as the title sequence goes by. Through this title sequence the film title and the actors are introduced over some scenery shots. The first shot is an aerial shot above a car going down a narrow road, then it fades to another shot of the main character sitting in the car. Next, is a bunch of inserts in the house of little kid toys and stuffed animals. Following that scene the car arrives at a old historical home out in the country side of London. The slow eerie music slowly fades out as they arrive because the cab driver and the main character share some dialogue. As she walks up to the house the music begins to play a little longer but very softly in the background, the only other thing heard is some atmospheric sound of the wind and the creaky house. After she enters the house the next scenes are of her exploring, she goes up the circular stair case and into the little boys room and looks around for a while. Through every single one of these scenes the title sequence is still going by. It is not until later that another person is introduced, which is the "grocery man". The Boy cost a total $10 million to make but gained about $68 million in profits across the globe. The Boy was nominated for multiple awards such as Best Indie Horror film and the Discovery of the Year but unfortunately did not receive the awards in the end.
